    Certification Process



The MTNA Professional Certification Program is based on a set of five Standards defining what a competent music teacher should know and be able to do, and seeks to improve the level of professionalism within the field of music teaching. Certification verifies that the teacher has obtained a common body of knowledge and a competency level necessary to teach an area of applied music. The initial certification process is designed to meet the requirements of Standards I, II, III, and IV.
