This is one of several sessions outlining the use of open-source software. Here, the discussion covers how Prestonsburg Community College is using Slackware Linux, Apache, and custom written PERL scripts to provide a web service that allows faculty to make course material available via the web in a very simple and straight-forward manner.
This session will highlight why the service was developed, the cost involved, technical issues encountered, usage issues encountered, and the benefits yielded since its inception. A live demonstration of the web service will be given.
