Collaborative Initiatives within an Information Services Organization

  • Lisa Fears, Franklin College

As IT budgets shrink, the expectations placed on support from the IT organization grows. This talk will focus on how to balance expectations from the Institution, maintain a productive work environment and foster personal growth for individual IT professionals. The IT staff at Franklin College has grown in numbers and has increased in support functions over the last two years. Franklin implemented a collaborative approach to accomplish departmental tasks years ago, and this approach has changed as growth occurs. Working in a collaborative manner as a department presents challenges based in work relationships, but also presents satisfying results in problem solving initiatives. This presentation will show a collaborative team is one able to anticipate, change, and bring value in a fast changing IT world to any size Institution.
