Technophobes Teaching with Technology

  • Mark Lecher, Franklin College

Technology is playing an ever-increasing role in the classroom. This fits well with faculty members who are familiar and comfortable with technology, but what about those who aren’t comfortable with technology, or are even technophobes? This presentation shows some of the experiences we have had at Franklin College dealing with these types of situations. This presentation will showcase some of the faculty who weren’t comfortable with technology, but felt the need to include it as part of their classroom experience. The presentation will go over several issues: starting the process of using technology in the classroom for faculty, the technology itself, and supporting the technology and the faculty once classes start. This presentation will be geared towards several audiences, including faculty, technical support, and administrators.
