Instructional Technology in Computer Science

  • Frederick Jenny, Grove City College

Who needs educational technology in computer science? Don't those computer geeks use computer systems and IT enough? Computer science instructors are certainly involved in the process of educating their students. How can an instructor leverage educational technology to improve the learning process? This presentation will demonstrate how one prof uses the Web, the campus network, Blackboard, and Jenzabar's LMS to support and enhance the courses taught (examples from data communications & networking, technologies of instruction, computer architecture & organization, Web programming, independent studies & honors, database management systems, etc.).
