Sinclair Community College has been awarded a National Science Foundation grant to improve the quality and consistency of instruction across multiple course sections taught by part-time faculty. Sinclair Curriculum eXchange (SCX), an online repository of learning objects (LOs) will be developed and used to deliver a consistent set of pedagogically sound teaching materials to introductory Computer Information Systems (CIS) students. Experienced CIS faculty will document successful learning activities along with instructions for using those activities in the classroom. The SCX system will be used to share the materials with all faculty teaching the introductory courses, thereby providing a consistent set of high quality materials to better engage the students in the learning process. The ultimate goal of this project is to deliver course materials that will assist the inexperienced teacher and provide support for those who are already exceptional.
