Recent research and results in information theory and practice that have metaphysical implications
  • Robin Snyder, Savannah State University

Practical developments in information theory in the past few decades have started to have important metaphysical implications without requiring religious presuppositions. This has come to the forefront in recent years with proponents of intelligent design attempting to get equal footing with the traditional teaching of evolution in school systems. This paper (and talk) will discuss (and present) some background into the relatively simple information theory that is causing the controversy. Some background in relevant computational genetics will be covered as will the relevance of this topic to the teaching of information systems. References to additional resources will be provided.
