Discussion of how three innovative technologies were used in higher education courses at the University of Indianapolis. Blogs, wikis, and podcasts have emerged with the potential to transform instruction. Their unique features facilitate cooperative learning, constructivism, and development of reading, writing, and speaking skills. Ability to share student projects outside the walls of the academy provide a sense of empowerment and motivate students. The presenters explored various possibilities and have employed blogs, wikis, and podcasting in college instruction without formal institutional support.
Presenters will discuss problematic issues of institutional support, cost, learning curve, appropriate student use. Student projects will be demonstrated and a list of free or near-free resources will be provided.
