Using a Network Admission Control System to Secure Your Network
  • Michael Lavengood, Franklin College

As students bring more computers to college, you have to implement a system that verifies that the computers that are not owned by the college are secured before they can connect to the college’s network. By installing and implementing a Network Admission Control (NAC) system in your residence halls and wireless network you can guarantee only authorized users as well as secure computers join your network. This presentation will show you how Franklin College used Cisco Clean Access to help require that the computers attached to the network are secure and at the same time cut down the calls to the Help Desk from the residence has in half, by providing documentation to the users that allowed them to learn how to fix their computers
