Description:
Hands-on workshop and discussion of how three innovative technologies may be useful in higher education. Within the last two years a number of new technologies have emerged that have the potential to transform instruction. Blogs, wikis, and podcasts have unique features and offer interesting possibilities, but the technologies are not always available and affordable for university faculty. The presenters have explored various possibilities and have employed blogs, wikis, and podcasting in college instruction without formal institutional support. Presenters will demonstrate successful implementation of these technologies without formal support from IT staff. The approach to “grow your own” resources and procedures is a scalable model. Free resources will be used to provide practical experience using blogs and wikis. Session will explore use of successful podcasts, and explain resources necessary to create your own. |
